When you’re picking out a replacement tube, the wavelength is what matters most because it controls how deep the heat goes. We usually go with shortwave tubes for a fast ramp-up and high heat density, wrapped in quartz to handle the intense temperatures. Now, you’ll need to make sure the voltage and wattage match your current transformer. It’s a balancing act. Sure, a higher-wattage tube gets things moving faster, but it puts more stress on your wiring. And be careful—if you crank the heat too high without adjusting your conveyor speed, you’ll scorch the surface before the core is even dry. You’ve got to find that sweet spot.
