We built this 500W tungsten halogen lamp for one reason: to give you a heat source that’s small, intense, and ready the moment you need it. It’s for industrial work where you need heat fast—and you need it to stay under control. Think spot heating, curing materials, or testing components when space is tight and there’s no room for a slow ramp-up.
The power that fits your reality
We landed on 500W because it gives you high heat density without straining your usual control circuits. That means a concentrated burst of heat, aimed right where you need it—so your setup stays compact. And it’s designed to run on standard industrial voltage, so you don’t have to stack extra components in your panel just to make it work. The lamp is short, too. Short enough to slip into tight cavities and narrow mounting spots, so you can drop it into what you already have without redesigning everything.
What’s inside—and why it matters
Inside the quartz envelope, a tungsten filament does the heavy lifting, and halogen gas keeps things stable through the regenerative halogen cycle. That cycle puts evaporated tungsten back onto the filament, so the lamp stays bright and steady over time, and the envelope stays clearer. Quartz handles high heat without complaining, and it’s tough against thermal shock, so repeated on/off cycling won’t crack it. For the connection, we went with an R7s base—an industrial standard that gives solid contact and makes installation straightforward, with or without tools.
Where it shines—and what to watch for
Use this when you need heat immediately, with no warm-up lag. Adhesive curing. Plastic softening. Lab-scale thermal profiling. Because the output is focused and the tube is short, you can put the heat exactly where it belongs. That precision helps you keep your process consistent and cuts down on wasted energy. One thing to keep in mind: it runs hot. Make sure you plan for ventilation and shielding around the target area. Protect nearby parts, and the lamp will keep performing the way it should.
