
Stop Overpaying for Your Wood Drying Lamps
If you’re running high-end international woodworking gear, you already know the pain. You go to replace a few infrared lamps and realize the OEM prices are absolutely insane. Sometimes it feels like you’re paying more for the brand name on the box than the actual hardware inside. We decided to fix that. We build our infrared heaters to be simple, drop-in replacements. They hit the same wattage and thermal footprint as the premium brands, but they won’t drain your bank account. Getting the heat right When you’re drying wood, you need that moisture gone fast. But there’s a catch. If the heat is too shallow, you just scorch the surface and leave the core damp. That’s why we focus on high wattage density. It pushes the heat deep into the wood where it actually belongs. One quick warning: check your voltage. Whether you’re on 230V or 400V, it has to be a perfect match for your transformer. If you put a low-voltage lamp on a high-voltage line, you’ll smell that filament burn out in about two minutes. Not a great way to start the morning. Built to actually last Cheap tubes bow and warp when things get hot. We use heavy-wall quartz glass to keep everything straight and steady. Plus, we’ve added a special coating to some of our lamps. It shifts the emission spectrum so you get a deep heat soak instead of that superficial “surface burn” you see with budget heaters. And since we use standard R7s or Sk15 connectors, you can just plug them in. No hacking your sockets or rewiring your machine. A few things to keep in mind In our side-by-side tests, these hold their own against the top-tier brands. But remember, high-wattage shortwave lamps put out a massive amount of localized heat. Make sure your cooling fans and vents are actually doing their job. If the air in your cabinet is stagnant, you’re risking warped reflector plates. It’s a simple fix, but it’s worth double-checking. At the end of the day, your drying cycles stay exactly the same. Your overhead just goes down.
