
Let’s talk about our 1500W Halogen Infrared Heaters
When we built these 1500W halogen lamps, we wanted something that didn’t just “warm up” the room. We went with shortwave infrared (SWIR) because it’s aggressive. Instead of waiting for the air to get hot, the heat punches right through the material. It’s immediate. The power side of things 1500W is a lot of juice. It gives you the kind of heat density you need when you’re trying to cycle temperatures fast. We’ve spec’d these for standard industrial voltages so the filament hits its stride in seconds. That speed is a huge win for your production line—it kills the downtime. Just a heads-up: if you’re running these at full tilt, make sure your wiring and contactors can actually handle the constant current. You don’t want to deal with a burnout because the wires were too thin. Quartz and the “nuts and bolts” We house the tungsten filament in high-purity quartz. Why? Because these things go from ice-cold to screaming hot in a heartbeat, and regular glass would just shatter. Quartz takes that thermal shock without breaking a sweat. For the connections, we mostly use R7s or Sk15. They’re basic, reliable, and usually just slide right into most industrial ovens without any fuss. And here’s a neat trick: some of our tubes come with a special coating. This tweaks the heat spectrum so it “sticks” better to specific plastics or coatings, making the whole process way more efficient. Where this actually fits in You’ll see these working hard in PET blowing machines, shrink tunnels, or powder coating lines. Because the shortwave output is so strong, you can actually pull the heater further back from your workpiece and still get the surface temperature where it needs to be. But look, a word of caution. 1500W in such a small package creates an incredible amount of radiant heat. Please,**don’t skimp on your cooling fans or heat shielding.**If you don’t vent the housing properly, you’re basically baking your own sensors and wiring. Nobody wants that.
