Introduction
We built this 1100mm, 220V, 2000W Quartz IR Halogen Heating Bulb for the industrial jobs where heat has to show up instantly—and stay steady. This isn’t a general-purpose lamp. It’s a shortwave infrared emitter, designed to pack serious heat into a small space, where downtime isn’t an option and temperature control needs to be repeatable.
Technical Deep-Dive
The 2000W rating at 220V? That was chosen to match what most plants already have running. So you can wire it in without reworking the whole electrical cabinet. And the 1100mm length gives you a long radiating surface, spreading the heat over more area while still keeping the element hot enough to jumpstart the process. The result is high power without a bulky footprint. It heats up fast because the filament hits operating temperature quickly. That means shorter cycle times on machines that live on heat/cool profiles. The watt density is high, so the lamp drives heat into the target efficiently—but yes, your machine’s thermal management needs to be up to the job, or the surroundings will run too hot.
Material & Design
We chose quartz for the envelope because it stays steady under high heat and transmits infrared cleanly. Inside, the halogen cycle keeps the filament clean as it runs, which helps keep output consistent over the life of the lamp. The shortwave IR output is tuned to be absorbed by many plastics and coatings, so the energy goes where you need it most—right at the surface. We went with an R7s base because it’s practical: solid contact, secure fit, and a straight swap into standard holders. No modifying the fixture. Quartz handles thermal shock better than glass, but it still needs care. Protect it from mechanical shock and keep it clean. Align it properly in the reflector, too—otherwise you’re leaving usable irradiance on the table.
Application & Benefits
Use this bulb when space is tight but power can’t be negotiated—thermoforming, laminating, curing lines, and plastic processing steps that demand intense, localized heat. The long, narrow profile gives you a predictable heat pattern, and the fast response helps you run tighter process windows. Out in the field, it’s a straightforward drop-in replacement. Spec your machine with a standard 220V supply, mount the lamp in the existing slot, and get back to running parts. Keep an eye on the socket and wiring during routine checks. At 2000W, connection integrity is a big part of reliability. Treat this lamp like a core system component, not an afterthought.
