Basically, you’re doubling the heat hitting your target without having to crank up the wattage or pay more for power. It’s a lifesaver when your lamp is tucked up against a cooling wall or a reflective back—you stop wasting energy heating up the back of your oven and start putting it into your workpiece. The nitty-gritty on the hardware These things use high-wattage quartz because the internal pressure is intense. Whether you’re dealing with R7s or Sk15 connectors, one thing is non-negotiable:the fit has to be tight. If your connections are loose, you’ll get arcing. And arcing is a fast track to a dead lamp.
