The Power Side of Things
It runs at 235V and pumps out 2000W. Now, that specific voltage is there for a reason. If you’re dealing with long cable runs where you lose voltage along the way, or if you’ve got a specific transformer setup, this is your best bet. But a word of warning: 2000W in such a small package is a lot of energy.**Double-check your wiring.**If your power supply isn’t up to the task, you’re not just looking at a flicker—you’re looking at burnt-out terminals. Not a fun way to spend a Tuesday.
Why Quartz and X-Clips?
We went with clear quartz glass because it lets the infrared energy fly right through. Some tubes are coated, which can actually bounce heat back into the filament. We avoided that so the tube doesn’t cook itself from the inside out. Then there’s the X-clip. It might look like a simple piece of hardware, but it’s actually the secret sauce. Quartz breathes. It expands when it’s hot and shrinks when it cools. The X-clip gives the lamp room to move. Without it, the glass would put too much pressure on the end caps and—snap—there goes your lamp. Plus, it makes swapping these into industrial racks a breeze.
Real-World Use (And the Gotchas)
You’ll mostly see these doing the heavy lifting in PET blowing, paint curing, or plastic welding. The heat is almost instant. It’s satisfying to watch. But here is the thing:be careful. The glare from the clear glass is intense. Your operators need shielding, or they’re going to be squinting all day. And please, for the love of everything,**don’t touch the glass with your bare hands.**A single fingerprint or a smudge of oil creates a “hot spot.” Once that happens, the glass fails.
