We swap those old systems for short-wave infrared (IR) lamps. Instead of warming the room, these lamps go straight for the coating. Why this actually works Think of it like the sun on your skin. You don’t need the air around you to be 100 degrees to feel the heat; the radiation hits you directly. These IR lamps do the same thing—they penetrate the coating and kickstart the chemical cross-linking process way faster. The result? Your finish dries in a much shorter distance. You can either crank up the line speed to get more product out the door or reclaim some floor space by shortening the oven. Getting the specs right We don’t believe in “one size fits all.” We build our lamps to fit the exact voltage and wattage your specific Barberan machine needs. Now, here’s the tricky part: high-wattage tubes are great for thick lacquers because they pack a punch, but they can put a real strain on your wiring. If you push it too hard, your control panels will start running hot. We spend a lot of time balancing that power output. We want you to hit the right surface temperature without tripping breakers every other Tuesday. The install process We use quartz glass for the lamps because it handles thermal shock without cracking. Plus, we use standard connectors. This is the best part: they’re drop-in replacements.
