Stop Fighting Your SIPA Rotary System
Ever feel like you’re chasing your tail with your SIPA rotary blow molder? One minute the bottles look great, the next you’ve got wall thickness all over the place and deformed shapes. It’s frustrating. Most of the time, the culprit is actually pretty simple: the lamps. If you’re throwing in replacement lamps that don’t perfectly match the original OEM wattage and voltage, you’re asking for trouble. We build our lamps for Techne molders to be true drop-in replacements. No guessing games. Just consistent power across the whole oven bank. The problem with “close enough” Here’s the thing about heat. If you mix and match lamps with different tolerances, you end up with hot spots and cold spots in your tunnel. It doesn’t matter if you’re running 230V or 400V—if the output isn’t exact, the bottle suffers. We calibrate our filaments so the heat density stays flat. When every lamp in the bank follows the same power curve, your PID controllers can actually do their job and stabilize the temp instead of fighting a losing battle against fluctuations. Built for the shake and the heat We use high-purity quartz glass because these things go through a lot of thermal shock. They heat up and cool down fast. Most of our units use R7s connectors. Why? Because they lock in tight. When the machine starts vibrating, you don’t want your lamp shifting. Even a tiny move can throw off the focal point of the infrared beam. Some of our versions even have a special coating that pushes the heat straight into the PET material rather than wasting it on the oven walls. A quick reality check from the shop floor Look, these high-wattage IR lamps put out a massive amount of heat. That’s the goal, but it comes with a catch. Your cooling blowers have to be spotless. If your airflow is clogged, the ends of the lamps will overheat and burn out way too soon. It doesn’t matter how precise the lamp is—if it can’t breathe, it’s going to fail. We build these to take a beating, but they still need a clean environment to actually last. Keep your blowers clear, and these lamps will take care of the rest.
