You get a concentrated blast of heat exactly where you need it. It’s almost instant. No waiting around for things to warm up. You flip the switch, and you’re hitting your target temperature in seconds.
The Power Side of Things
Here’s the thing about that 1500W rating: it creates a lot of heat density inside that quartz tube. Because of that, you really need a stable voltage. If your power supply starts spiking, you’re basically asking for the filament to burn out early. It’s a powerful tool, but it needs a steady hand (or a steady regulator) to keep it running long-term.
What’s Under the Hood?
We use high-purity quartz glass for the tube. Why? Because it keeps the halogen cycle working. It stops the tungsten filament from evaporating and gunking up the walls, so the light stays clear and the heat stays strong. At 420mm, these fit right into most standard industrial setups. If you’re running PET blowing or shrink-wrap tunnels, these usually slide right in as a replacement. Plus, they typically use R7s or spring-loaded sockets. That’s a lifesaver on a loud factory floor because the connection stays tight even when everything is vibrating.
A Few Things to Watch Out For
These lamps are absolute workhorses for drying and plastics, but they have a temper. Since they pack so much power into a 420mm frame, the heat is intense.Really intense. You’ve got to get your reflectors and cooling fans right. If you skimp on the airflow, the heat soak will eventually warp your brackets or fry your sensors. And for heaven’s sake, use high-temperature lead wires. You don’t want to find out the hard way that your insulation has melted into a puddle.
